Kick off the academic year with the annual all-university conference for KU faculty and instructional staff. The keynote will be presented by Dr. Jillian Kinzie, associate director of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Dr. Kinzie will discuss engaging practices in undergraduate education and highlight the recent NSSE report suggesting that institutions can "look within" their own students for variation in engagement, rather than simply comparing averages across universities. She will also present a breakout session on tools departments can use to recognize and improve engagement in undergraduate teaching and learning, and a session on ways departments can use student engagement data.
Incoming Chancellor Gray-Little will also address Summit participants in a welcome to the conference.
